Historian and author Christian McBurney will speak for the first time in South County about his new book, Untold Stories from World War II Rhode Island. He will reveal long-forgotten stories, including amazing secret innovations developed in the state for the armed forces overseas, the local training of future U.S. presidents, and recollections of Rhode Islanders when they were children or teenagers during the war years. A book-signing will follow the program.
